Flour Bluff ISD announces graduation ceremony plan

By May 14, 2020No Comments

Flour Bluff ISD is moving forward with an in-person, outdoor graduation for the Flour Bluff High School Class of 2020. For the first time in 45 years, the graduation ceremony will be held on the district’s home turf, on Friday, June 5, at Hornet Stadium. This modified graduation plan is based on Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order No. GA-21 issued on May 5, 2020 and follows the guidance of the Texas Education Agency.

The graduation ceremony will follow all the social distancing recommendations set by local, state and national authorities while celebrating our students’ achievements with a traditional graduation ceremony. Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, each graduate will be allowed two (2) guests to attend in-person graduation at Hornet Stadium. The limit on the number of guests will allow for the ceremony to proceed while following the social distancing protocols. Due to the limited number of in-person guests allowed in Hornet Stadium, Flour Bluff ISD will live stream the commencement ceremony via the District’s Facebook social media platform (facebook.com/FlourBluffISD).

The District will be finalizing all requirements for students and guests who attend the in-person graduation and will communicate that information directly to our senior students and families. Click here for complete details.

Due to the fluid nature of the current situation, our modified graduation plan may be impacted by future national, state and local requirements. Any changes will be communicated as quickly as possible to senior students and parents.
