High School Art students participate in VASE Competition

Flour Bluff High School Art students participated in the Texas Art Educators Association Regional VASE Competition (Visual Art Scholastic Event) on Saturday, February 18, at Rockport High School.

VASE  recognizes exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts. Participating students may present up to two of their original works of art to a qualification panel. Once “qualified” they are interviewed. Art work is juried based on originality of concept, technical expertise, understanding of the TEKS and the interpretation of the student’s written intent. Artworks receiving a rating IV are presented a regional medal.

Ten Flour Bluff HS students’ works of art received a Superior IV Rating at this year’s regional competition. This includes two medals for student Anna Larsen.
