FBHS champions at UIL Academic District Contest

The Flour Bluff High School University Interscholastic League (UIL) Academic Team brought home the 30-5A District title during the District Academic contest held March 23 and 24. The group placed 1st or 2nd in nine events. The students competed against nine other high schools in the Corpus Christi area.

According to UIL, academic activities exist to complement the academic curriculum designed to motivate students as they acquire higher levels of knowledge. In addition, they are created to challenge students to confront issues of importance and to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of specific skills. Students are challenged to think critically and creatively, exhibiting much more than knowledge and comprehension.

All of the Flour Bluff HS students who competed and placed at the District competition will move on to compete at the UIL Regional Academic Contest at the University of Texas-San Antonio on April 13 and 14. Below is a listing of team and academic awards:
