Flour Bluff HS Golf competed at the Mercedes High School Invitational at Treasure Hills Golf Course in Harlingen, Texas, during the first weekend in March. The Hornet Boys Golf team came home with the Championship. The Girls Golf team took 3rd place.
The Boy’s team was led by 3rd Place overall Medalist, John Chapa, firing a two day total of 163. He shot 82 on Friday and 81 on Saturday. Fifth Place Medalist, Ethan Ming, followed with 165 (83,82), Jaymin Delafuente 170 (87,83), and Carson Gulley rounded out the scoring with 172, shooting 87 and 85.
The Varsity Girls also had a successful tournament with a 3rd Place finish! 6th Place Medalist, Kaylie Chapa, led the girls with a two-day total of 160. She fired an 80 the first day and 80 on Saturday. Kaitlyn Habib followed with 181 (93,88), Jill Zimmerman came in with 197 (102,95), Ferrell Tugman finished with 203 (95,108). Jenna Flores rounded out the team with 215 (107,108).
