Flour Bluff ISD to celebrate Texas Public Schools Week with campus-wide events

Each year, school districts and communities take time to shine a spotlight on the profound and engaging learning taking place in public schools across the state of Texas. This year, Flour Bluff ISD will join other schools districts across the state and recognize the high quality education that happens everyday in our schools and classrooms during Texas Public Schools Week, February 26 – March 2.

Each Flour Bluff ISD campus has daily activities and events scheduled that open their doors and encourage parents and the community to check-out all the great things about our school district. This is an unique opportunity to celebrate the successes–big and small–of our students and teachers.

Below is a campus-by-campus list of activities:

Early Childhood Center
February 26-March 2 – Book Fair
February 26 –ECC Kick-Off Pep Rally; Book Fair kicks-off
February 26 – Open House 6 – 7 p.m.
February 27 – “Texas Tuesday” – Students may wear western attire
February 28 – “Chili Cook-Off and College Day” – Students may wear favorite college shirt
March 1 – “Career Day” – Community helpers invited to read to students and give a short presentation on their career; Students may dress up in attire from their career of choice
March 2 – “Family Picnic Day” – Parents invited to join their child’s class for an outside picnic

Primary School
February 26 – March 2 – Book Fair
February 26 – Dress: “Hats Off to Texas” – Students may wear any has; Rodeo at PE; BLT (Books and Lunch Together)
February 27 – Dress: “Honor the Texas flag” – Students may wear Red, White & Blue; Rodeo at PE; BLT (Books and Lunch Together)
February 28 – Dress: “Support College Awareness” – Students may wear a Texas college shirt; Rodeo at PE; BLT (Books and Lunch Together)
March 1 – Dress: “Support a Texas Team” – Students may wear a Texas team jersey; Rodeo at PE; BLT (Books and Lunch Together); Book Fair 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Open House, 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
March 2 – Dress: “Be A Texan” – Students may dress like a Cowboy/Cowgirl; Best Vest Contest

Elementary School
February 22-March 1: Book Fair
February 26: “Magnificent Breakfast Monday” – Have breakfast with your child
February 27: “Terrific Future Tuesday” – Students may dress as a “Future” Profession; Open House, 6 – 7 p.m.
February 28: “Wonderful College Wednesday” – Students may wear their favorite college attire; Texas Our Texas Performance 9:30 a.m. & 1:45 p.m.
March 1:“Team Champion Thursday” – Students may wear their favorite team attire; Texas Our Texas Performance 9:30 a.m. & 1:45 p.m.
March 2: “Fantastic Texan Friday” – Students dress as a famous Texan or Cowgirl/Cowboy; 4th grade Texas Historical Figures Parade & Presentation (8:30 a.m.)

Intermediate School
February 26 – Wear boots for Texas Public Schools Week
February 27 – Wear Red, White & Blue for Texas pride
March 28 – Wear shades for a bright future
March 1 – “College Day” – Students may wear their favorite college attire
March 2 – “Spirit Day” – Students may wear their favorite team attire
March 8 – Intermediate Open House 6-7 p.m.

Junior High School
February 26 – “Texas Public School’s Week Kick-Off” – Students may wear their favorite Texas cowboy attire; Open House 5:30-6:30 p.m.
February 27 – “Career Day” – Advisory classes have career discussions
February 28 – “College Spirit Day” – Students may wear College T-Shirt or Jersey
March 1 – Parents/Guardians have lunch with your child.  Students can wear red, white and blue.
March 2 – “Hawaiian/Fishing Shirt Day” – Students may wear their favorite Hawaiian or fishing shirt

High School
February 26 –Parents are invited to visit Math classes; Open House 5:30-7 pm;
February 27 – Parents are invited to visit Science classes
February 28 – Parents are invited to visit English classes; “Show your College Spirit” – students may wear college shirts
March 1 – Parents are invited to visit Social Studies classes
March 2 – Parents are invited to visit elective classes; “Show your School Spirit” – students may wear Flour Bluff attire
